Molding
The role of molding in a house is to hide the openings and cracks left where walls, floors. windows and siding meet. Too often the esthetic and design potential of molding is overlooked. Bizier offers a large choice of popular models from any wood species commercially available. It is also possible to custom match a specific existing design. We also promote wood species commercially under-utilized such as red pine, ash or poplar.
Some wood species are sensitive to chemical or fungal stains during the transformation or drying process. Such stains lower the esthetic and commercial value of the wood but do not impact the structural properties of the wood or present a risk to human health. This wood is particularly convenient for molding that will be finished with dark shades of stain or paint.
Solid wood molding has many advantages over molding constructed from wood fibres such as medium density fibreboard (MDF). Wood has much greater resistance to shock and does not release chemicals that may affect your health. Moldings are sold by linear foot. The profile has little influence on price. The price depends on the wood species and width. Please consult examples of our most popular models or contact us to find out about additional models.
Our molding possess the following qualities:

Kiln dried wood. All of our shipments are verified with a moisture meter to ensure that the moisture content is 8% (± 2%).

Following a shock, solid wood molding can easily be repaired with an iron and a damp cloth.
|
|
Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF) shatters more easily than solid wood when it is hit. Split and shattered (MDF) is also more difficult to repair.
